How much firearms experience do I need before taking a professional pistol training course?

None at all. Courses like our Basic Pistol for the Armed Professional (BPAP) are built specifically for beginners who want a strong, safe foundation before stepping onto the range. You don't need to have ever handled a firearm to walk in the door.

What matters more than prior experience is your willingness to learn and follow instruction. Our instructors start with the fundamentals every time:

• The four universal firearm safety rules
• Proper grip, stance, and trigger control
• Safe handling and holstering
• Legal and ethical use of force

If you've never touched a firearm, you'll get the same careful, step-by-step instruction as anyone else in the room. If you already have some experience, the course still sharpens your fundamentals and prepares you for the more advanced BSIS Exposed Firearms Certification down the line.
