Longevity Enhancing Activities
Join us for a unique wellness program blending traditional Japanese health practices, movement, and mindfulness—taught by Sensei Harunaka Hoshino, a lifelong martial artist and cultural instructor from Tokyo, Japan. This class is most approriate to take with friends or partners, as the Shiatsu portion is hands-on training. Online registration is required prior to class.
Each 90-minute session includes three integrated segments designed to promote flexibility, relaxation, and sustainable healthy living:
30 minutes: Juunan-Taiso (Flexibility & Limber-Up Exercises)
Gentle full-body movements to enhance mobility, improve balance, and cultivate mindfulness through motion.
30 minutes: Shiatsu (Japanese Acupressure Massage)
Learn simple, effective techniques to relieve tension, promote circulation, and restore body balance through the art of touch. This is a hands-on practice, so friends, couples, and training partners are especially encouraged to attend together for the best experience.
30 minutes: Ancient Samurai & Ninja Diet (Japanese Longevity Foods)
Explore traditional dietary habits and food preparation methods that supported vitality and resilience for centuries. Discussions include the Okinawan approach to longevity, the importance of low-sugar, high-nutrient foods, and the role of mindful eating and daily activity in healthspan.This course is ideal for anyone interested in enhancing flexibility, reducing stress, improving diet, and cultivating a long, active life. Students will also receive guidance on integrating meditation, healthy snacking alternatives, and lifestyle habits that align with Japan’s time-honored principles of balance and well-being.
