BSIS Guard Card Use of Force

The BSIS Guard Card Use of Force course is a 5-hour class that covers the required Powers to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force training. You must pass a written test before you can submit your application. A completion certificate will be issued at the end of the course.

You will need to complete the online portion prior to attending this in-person class and bring a copy of your completion certificate with you. The online portion can be found at:  https://ca.stconlineguardcard.com/

If you wish to take both Powers to Arrest and Use of Force in person, please register for the 8-hour Basic Guard Card course.

Important Notices:

All classes currently taught by Guardian Training Center are in English.   At this time, we do not provide or allow translators to accompany students during CA State BSIS-certification classes, nor do we allow usage of translation applications "apps", software or other translation services to be used during classes.  Students who attend these classes must be fluent in the English language and be able to understand, read and write in English.

  • The cost of the course does NOT include the BSIS application fee or the Live Scan fee for the DOJ/FBI Criminal Background Check that are mandatory requirements.
  • Guard Cards are issued by BSIS, NOT this training facility. The process with BSIS usually takes 2-3 weeks but can take up to 8 weeks.
  • Guardian Training Center requires 3 days (72 hours) cancellation/rescheduling notice prior to your scheduled arrival date and time; otherwise, you will be charged a cancellation/rescheduling fee of 50%.
  • A minimum class size of 5 students is required to hold this class. If we do not reach that number by 72 hours prior to class, class will be cancelled, and you will be placed in the next scheduled class and notified by email. Or you may cancel for a full refund.
  • Anyone suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to take the course. GUARDIAN TRAINING CENTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE.
