The First Friendly Voice at GTC

If you’ve called, emailed, or registered for a class at Guardian Training Center, chances are you’ve already met Debbie Burk. As Office & Student Coordinator, Debbie keeps GTC running smoothly behind the scenes and is often the first friendly voice students hear.

Behind the Scenes at Guardian Training Center

Debbie’s work touches nearly every part of the student experience:

• Registrations for students and clients
• Answering questions from students and clients
• Record-keeping for GTC’s state licensure
• Preparing classrooms for training
• Overseeing supplies and facilities
• Assisting with CPR and First Aid instruction

Nearly 30 Years of Public Safety Experience

Debbie brings nearly 30 years of public safety experience to her role. She served as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Palo Alto Fire Department, where she provided advanced pre-hospital medical care and taught First Aid and CPR for her department.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.

After retiring from the fire service, Debbie joined GTC in 2023. She is known for her professionalism, strong organizational skills, and an easy ability to connect with people.

Beyond the Office

Outside of work, Debbie is a lifelong animal lover who treasures the unconditional love they give.
